About the author:

Larry Maynard is a mechanical engineer. He was born on the island of Trinidad, and lives at the foothills of the Northern Range. His mother was a descendent of the First People and his father of Barbadian Heritage. Larry is a self-taught visual artist and decoupage artist. He works in acrylic, water colours, pastel, charcoal, pen and ink, and pencil. His subject matters are varied, however he has a passion for West Indian Heritage and culture, its people and landscapes.
Artists who have influenced Larry include Vincent van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, Norman Rockwell, Boscoe Holder, Dermot Louison, Adrian Camps-Campins, Jackie Hinkson and comic book legend Gene (The Dean) Colan.
Larry is a member of the Art Society of Trinidad and Tobago (ASTT). In 2018 he won the Curator’s Award at ASTT November member exhibition. In 2023 Larry exhibited in ASTT members’ exhibition Masterworks: A Showcase of Excellence.
Larry also exhibits regularly with the Rotunda Gallery of the Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago.
