Foundation Readers – Level 2 by Devrani Barrios

Foundation Readers 2 is the second level in acquiring reading skills. This book will help readers identify the beginning consonant blends, diphthongs, ending blends and the silent “E” rules. All, while still allowing them to hone their word attack skills. Remember that reading can be a difficulty for some; therefore, the gradual movement with this book should be at the reader’s pace to ensure constant improvement with little to no regression along the process. New words and names specific to our region are introduced in this level. We must remember that the reading skill, especially for students who have a much harder time acquiring it, need more practice with the phonics and blends to be comfortable enough to progress through the mechanics. This book was designed with that time and practice in mind. You will also notice that the passages and words will become more challenging as they progress through the book. There is no set pace to complete this level, as such take the necessary time to move through the mechanics of reading that was designed within this text.
