Description
Caribbean Creatures: Modern Anansi Folklore Stories is a contemporary Caribbean folklore coloring and storybook, guided by Anansi and inspired by traditional myths, legends, and cultural characters from across the region.
These modern retellings revisit familiar figures from Caribbean storytelling — not to explain them away, but to sit with them. Each story pauses long enough to explore what folklore still holds about power, consequence, memory, belief, and survival in the present day.
Blending short literary stories with black-and-white illustrations designed for coloring, this book invites readers to slow down, reflect, and engage creatively with Caribbean culture. Some tales unsettle. Others offer warmth or relief. All are rooted in tradition, shaped by lived experience, and thoughtfully reimagined.
Created for readers aged 10+ and adults alike, Caribbean Creatures is both a coloring book and a storytelling collection — one that honors where these stories come from and leaves space for where they might go next.
