2-part workshop with elisha efua bartels and Wendell Manwarren
Friday 22 and 29, November, 2024
Format: In-person, The Writers Centre
Cost: 400TT
Time: 5-7pm
Sharpen your storytelling tongues in this two-part workshop designed to amplify and enhance the delivery of creative work out loud, including spoken word poems, dramatic monologues, oratory pieces, and more. Gain confidence in your ability to command an audience, captivate a crowd, even prepare to vie for the next First Citizens National Poetry Slam!
Experienced and award-winning dramatists elisha efua bartels and Wendell Manwarren, both past judges of the FCNPS, will productively put you through your paces, assessing elements of body language, use of space, pitch and intonation – all these and more in the actor and performer’s toolkit will be yours.
Level: All
Participants should prepare a piece meant for public performance, averaging no more than five minutes presentation time. The workshop instructors will engage with these pieces, providing live feedback, constructive critique, and tips to shape and finesse the work.
