Sip and Paint at Scribbles and Quills: From S.E.A. Stress to Starry Nights!

by Radeyah H. Ali

There’s something really special about seeing children exhale after months of preparation, studying, pressure, and anticipation. After the S.E.A. Examinations, we wanted to create a space where the Standard 5 students of Eniath’s Montessori and Prep could simply breathe, create, laugh, and enjoy themselves — and our Sip & Paint afternoon at Scribbles and Quills was exactly that.

For this session, we put our own creative spin on Vincent van Gogh’s iconic masterpiece, The Starry Night. Rather than focusing on perfection, we encouraged the students to explore colour, movement, imagination, and self-expression. And honestly? They completely understood the assignment.

From the moment the paint hit the canvas, the students were fully “locked in” as one of the students shared as he took charge of the paint brush over his canvas. The room was filled with concentration, excitement, chatter, and those little moments of pride when someone stepped back to admire what they had created. Every painting turned out beautifully different, each one carrying its own personality and artistic flair. Watching them interpret such a famous piece in their own way was incredibly rewarding.

The session wasn’t just about painting — it was about celebration. A celebration of hard work, resilience, creativity, and making it through one of the biggest milestones of their primary school journey. Students enjoyed pizza, treats, and fancy sips of non-alcoholic wine while relaxing with their classmates and simply having fun together after exam season.

One of the things we love most at Scribbles and Quills is creating experiences that feel meaningful, memorable, and inspiring, especially for young people. Art has such a beautiful way of helping children express themselves confidently, and this event reminded us just how talented and imaginative our students truly are.

We are so proud of every single masterpiece created that afternoon and so grateful to have shared this experience with the Standard 5 class of Eniath’s Montessori and Prep. A special thank you as well to Sameer’s mom for sponsoring this wonderful experience for the students.

At Scribbles and Quills Limited, we love bringing creativity, books, art, and community together — and we’re already looking forward to the next event.
